Indian national Anil Chauhan from Daman and Diu is cycling to Bangladesh along with his daughters, seven-year-old Shreya and four-year-old Yukti. <\/p>\n
He has already travelled 11,000km. He began his journey on 1 January. He hopes to urge people to stop the use of single-use plastic, reports Times Now of the neighbouring country.<\/p>\n
He aims to pedal his way to Bangladesh raising awareness about the scourge of single-use plastic.<\/p>\n
Asked why he was undertaking such an arduous journey with his two daughters, Chauhan, a widower, told Times Now that his mission was to stop the death of cows due to single-use plastic.<\/p>\n
“Most of the cows in the country die by eating single-use plastic thrown in the garbage. Plastic is also one of the main reasons for diseases among cows,” he said.<\/p>\n
Carrying just one bag and two blankets with him, Chauhan has been cycling for over seven months, resting at temples, bus stops, railway stations or dharamshalas after sundown. <\/p>\n
