Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Gulf Air announced the signing of a strategic code-share agreement. The official signing ceremony for the code-share agreement was held virtually at Biman Head Office on August 9, 2023, with representatives from both airlines connected through web platform.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Shafiul Azim, MD and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said, “We are thrilled to join hands with Gulf Air in this code-share agreement, which marks a significant milestone for both airlines. This partnership will unlock new possibilities for our customers and strengthen the bonds between Bangladesh and the Gulf countries.”
\nCaptain Waleed Al Alawi, CEO, Gulf Air, commented, “We are delighted to be partnering with Biman Bangladesh Airlines, a respected carrier in the South Asian region. Through this code-share agreement, we are looking forward to offering our passengers an expanded network of destinations and more travel choices.”
\nThis partnership aims to enhance travel connectivity, convenience, and accessibility for passengers travelling between Bangladesh and the Gulf region.
\nUnder this agreement, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Gulf Air will collaborate closely to expand their flight networks, offering an extensive range of options to their respective passengers.
\nThe code-share agreement will enable travellers to seamlessly book flights operated by either airline, providing increased flexibility and efficiency in travel planning, said a release.
\nInitially, under this agreement, passenger can travel from Dhaka to Bahrain and Bahrain to Dhaka with onward connections to Chattogram and Sylhet by both the airlines (Biman and Gulf Air).
\nResumption of Dhaka-Guangzhou flights
\nBiman Bangladesh Airlines will be resuming direct flights from Dhaka to China’s Guangzhou on September 14.
\nThe airline’s flight BG366 will depart Dhaka for Guangzhou every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10:20 pm, and arrive in Guangzhou at 4:00 am the next day.
\nOn the other hand, the return flights will depart Guangzhou at 5:30 am local time every Friday, Monday and Wednesday and reach Dhaka at 7:20 am the next day.
\nA 5 per cent discount on base fare can be availed by using promocode NEWYEAR23 when purchasing tickets from Biman’s website and apps.
\nOn the Dhaka-Guangzhou route, the one-way Economy Class fare starts from BDT 30,670 per person, and the fare for a return ticket starts from BDT 50,539.
\nOn the other hand, the one-way Economy Class fare on the Guangzhou-Dhaka route starts from BDT 24,157 per person, and the return ticket price on the route starts from BDT 48,911.
