Mujib’s Bangladesh Food Fest kicks off in Dhaka
One of the biggest colorful food festivals of Bangladesh is going to be organized at Mustafa Kamal Ataturk Park in Banani of the capital on May 4-6 (3 days).
The food festival will remain open for all, from 10am to 10pm till Saturday, at the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Park in Banani, organisers said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
A total of 39 establishments will display and sell around 50 food items, ranging from traditional Bengali dishes to regional palates, at 43 stalls in the festival.
Hotel InterContinental Dhaka, Pan Pacific Sonargaon and other chain hotels will offer their best delicacies to cater to the tastes of visitors.
“The aim of the festival is to attract foreigners as well as the local people,” said State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali at the briefing.
Alongside the officials of the foreign embassies and missions in Dhaka, diplomats from various international organisations have also been invited to the Mujib’s Bangladesh Food Festival, said organisers.
Visitors will also be allowed to enjoy traditional Bengali songs and “Puthi” [manuscript] reading at the festival.
