M. A. Nahiyan recently began working as the Chief Business Development Officer (CBO) at NS Island Resort, the country of Bangladesh’s first and biggest island resort. Prior to this, he held the position of Head of Customer Experience of Bashundhara Group at the Sales and Marketing Department of Toggi Fun World, Bashundhara City Development Ltd. He oversaw Sales and Marketing as a Manager/Head of the Departmentat the Sky City Hotel, the Nandini Hotel, and the Grace 21 Smart Hotel, all of which are renowned and award winning international hotels in Dhaka. He had a position as Coordinator – Business Development of RHTi at the Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort.
He is the President of the International Youth Tourism Confederation (IYTC) and the Founder/Chairman of the Federation of Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management (FoHTEM). Additionally, he serves as Founder/President of Business Genius Bangladesh (BGB), Business Olympiad (BO) and Bangladesh Debate Warriors(BDW), national organizations that promote debate and business studies. His organizations, BDW, BGB, and FoHTEM, organize a variety of business studies, education, career, cultural, tourism, and hospitality management-related programs each month.
He worked as a Manager – Sales Marketingand Event at Tony’s Palace – Guest House, Kitchen, and Restaurant and AK Khan Group of Companies after completing his studies on International Tourism and Hospitality Management at Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality – CTH, UK. He worked for Panjeree Publication Ltd. as the Brand Development and Event Manager of PACE and for Point O Event Management Company as an Assistant Project Manager.
He served as the Navy Anchorage Dhaka, Jaago Foundation and Mohammadpur Preparatory Higher Secondary School and College’s debate instructor. Additionally, he served as a Guest Lecturer for the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the People’s University of Bangladesh (PUB), the European University of Bangladesh (EUB), and the Fareast International University (FIU). He also served as a Trainer at the Tony Khan Culinary Institute, Master Chef Institute Bangladesh, ACE Hospitality Management Institute, Regency Hospitality Training Institute, Ibn Sina Hospital, Sheikh Hasina National Youth Center and others.
He lives in Dhanmondi and is the son of the late freedom fighter Professor Alhaj Md. Mahbubur Rahman.
