Saudi Arabia keen to invest in Bangladesh’s seaports, airports
Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen today said Saudi Arabia is keen to invest in Bangladesh’s energy sector as well as seaports and airports.
“They want to invest in our (sea) ports … airports,” he told reporters after holding a bilateral talk with visiting Saudi commerce minister Dr Majeed bin Abdullah Al-kussabi on the sideline of Bangladesh Business Summit-2023 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here.
The foreign minister said the Saudi Arabia has already started a project at Patenga in Chattogram while Bangladesh offered special economic zone to the oil-reach middle-eastern nation at its port city.
“The Saudi commerce minister is a doer he (Al-kussabi ) told me that they want to work here (in Bangladesh),” Momen said.
The foreign minister said the foreign investors are showing interest to invest in Bangladesh considering the stable government and its investment-friendly policies.
Al-kussabi, who is also the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Foreign Trade, arrived here last afternoon to join the business summit.
