Shakib Al Hassan returned to Bangladesh on August 21, 2023 after completing his foreign assignments and went to Barisal. There he said that his dream is the World Cup and the Asia Cup.
Before going to Barisal he featured in the G20 Canada and T20 league in Canada and then went to Sri Lanka to play the Lanka Premier League. Thereafter, he went to Dubai for a commercial engagement from where he returned to Dhaka.
