Direct Dhaka-Bern flight: Draft agreement finalized.
Bangladesh and Switzerland are working to initiate direct flights between the two countries. A text for a draft bilateral air service agreement for direct connectivity between the two nations has already been finalised, a top official of the civil aviation ministry told The Daily Star today.
The drafting of the agreement took place during a bilateral two-day meeting on July 4-5 between the delegations of civil aviation authorities of Bangladesh and Switzerland.
Once the agreement is finalised, airlines of the two countries will be able to operate direct flights between Dhaka and Bern, the capital of Switzerland.
Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and Laurent Noel, lead negotiator, Air Services Agreements, Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, led their respective sides at the meeting held at CAAB headquarters.
During the meeting, both sides showed keen interest to sign the final agreement soon.
